With its ancient origins and preservation over millennia, Palmyra is a true historical gem. The exhibition showcases Palmyra's remarkable history from the first three centuries CE.

Our goal with this exhibition was to transport visitors into the heart of Palmyra's past. Upon entering the exhibition, visitors are enveloped in an animated sandstorm, transporting them into the very essence of the desert city. To vividly illustrate the city's evolution, animated maps with a captivating soundscape trace its historical development. These animations come alive alongside an unparalleled collection of Palmyrene portrait sculptures, photographs, and archaeological diaries. Together, they paint a vivid picture of Palmyra's captivating past.

'The Road to Palmyra' is a testament to our dedication to creating immersive and educational experiences that bring history to life.

The exhibition is made in collaboration with scenographer Anne Schnettler, sound designer Peter Albrechtsen and filmmaker Sun Hee Engelstoft.

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark
Photography: Yoke and Glyptoteket
