For Kongernes Jelling, Yoke has created the full exhibition design and digital experience for The Gold Treasure from Vindelev — an encounter with 23 remarkable pieces of gold that lay hidden for 1,500 years. Roman medallions, mythological bracteates and some of the earliest runic references to Odin reveal a powerful family connected to networks far beyond Jutland.
The exhibition transforms these findings into a sensory narrative. A sculptural spatial design evokes the threshold between soil and discovery, while digital layers trace the gold’s journey across Europe. Audiovisual sequences recreate and highlights the details of the treasure, and interactive elements let visitors explore the motifs, inscriptions and interpretations up close.
Uncertain histories become part of the experience: Was the hoard a gift to the gods during a time of plague and upheaval — or hidden from danger? Through sound, light and atmospheric storytelling, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on belief, crisis and cultural exchange in Scandinavia before the Viking kings.
